Where we come in
Most engagements start with one of these four sentences
None of them are really about software. Each one is a description of how a business is running today, which is where any useful conversation about changing it has to begin.
- Undocumented process
It works, but only because one person knows how.
The process is real; the system around it is not. We map what actually happens — including the parts that live in spreadsheets and habit — and build the smallest thing that holds it.
- No single definition
Every department has a number, and none of them agree.
That is a modelling problem, not a reporting one. Agree what a customer, an order and a product are, once, and the dashboards stop contradicting each other on their own.
- Change has become expensive
The software works. Nobody can safely change it.
Usually the cost is not the code but what is missing around it — tests, documentation, a way to release without holding your breath. We make change routine before we make it fast.
- Bought versus built
We bought a platform. It does most of the job.
Sometimes the right answer is to integrate rather than replace, and we say so when it is. What matters is being specific about what the remaining gap costs either way.
